Pet food distribution specialist Earl Transport has taken delivery of six T520 High pusher tractor units following positive experiences with the model since 2018.

The new 13-litre T520 6×2 units with high sleeper cabs are fitted with the Optidriver AT 2612F gearbox with automatic clutch providing a maximum torque of 2550 Nm. The vehicles have been specified with Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels, fixed roof deflector and side deflectors as well as a five-year Optivision subscription.

Meanwhile, to ensure driver comfort, the trucks come with fridge, microwave, multimedia touchscreen, “ultimate” upper bunk that can be transformed into extra storage and “comfort” air conditioning.

The six new trucks, which replace four 19- and two 69-plated T Highs, mean that Earl Transport’s mixed fleet has risen to 22. The latest additions will be operated under a Renault Trucks repair and maintenance contract.

Peter Hughes, Managing Director at Earl Transport, said: “I like to look after my drivers – they are the beating heart of the business. The vehicles are tramping, and the drivers are out most nights of the week.

“I like to think if I was a driver that’s what I’d want in a truck, so I fit them out with extras like microwaves and fridges. Consequently, driver acceptability of the T High is exceptional; they think they are great trucks.”
