Philips Automotive Lighting UK says it has won a deal to make it official UK aftersales supplier for vehicle lighting products to van and truck rental giant Ryder's 11,000 strong fleet.  The firm says its 24 volt MasterLife long life bulbs impressed Ryder with their ability to cut vehicle downtime, giving up to five times the life of a standard 24V bulb.  Ryder is also taking Philips LongerLife 12V bulbs, offering three or four times the normal life.  "One of the areas we really were able to help was with stop and tail lights," says Ed Savage, general manager, automotive lighting for Philips UK.  These account for almost 80% of the fitting cost for lighting.
