Bertocco Shell's roll-over warning device has won this year's EuroTra Safety and Innovation Award.  The winning device warns tanker drivers of an imminent roll-over situation.  It uses a sensor between the rear axles of the trailer and a receiver in the truck's cab. This gives the driver instant feedback about the stability of the vehicle and the effects of his driving.  Bertocco Shell is a collaboration between Bertocco Automotive Engineering of Italy and Shell Chemicals BV of Holland.  The UK's Freight Transport Association manages this pan-European award, sponsored by the Volvo Truck Corporation.
