Long-standing Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles partner and family-run tea merchant Ringtons has received its first all-electric ID. Buzz Cargo van, adding to its existing 250-strong Volkswagen fleet.

Serving as part of its doorstop delivery service, the new Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo will deliver high-quality Ringtons produce to customers across the UK.

Due to the flexible modular electric drive matrix (MEB) chassis, the ID. Buzz Cargo can accommodate two Euro pallets loaded sideways, with an overall volume of up to 3.9m3.

Named ‘International Van of the Year 2023’, the van is available to purchase in two trim levels, Commerce and Commerce Plus, both offering a range of practicality, connectivity, and driver assistance systems.

Featuring a 77kWh (net capacity) lithium-ion battery, the ID. Buzz Cargo is capable of an all-electric range of up to 256 miles, and can be charged from 5% to 80% in thirty minutes via rapid charging – 170kW cable.

“I was lucky enough to be among the first customers to get behind the wheel and aside from being really enjoyable to drive, as a carbon neutral business there are clear benefits to us in going all-electric.”
