R Jameson Event Transport has taken delivery of two new Volvo FH 500 Globetrotter XL 4×2 tractor units, specified with driver comfort in mind, to work across the UK and Europe.

Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre South & East, the two FHs expand the Marlow-based firm’s fleet to 19 vehicles.

Each truck is powered by a Euro-6 compliant D13K Step E engine, producing 500 hp and a peak torque of 2,500 Nm.

They are driven by Volvo’s automated 12-speed I-Shift gearbox, which constantly evaluates information about speed, weight, road grade and torque demand.

The Globetrotter XL cabs have been fitted with a Drive+ package, adding dual armrests on both driver and passenger seats, electrically controlled roof hatch and adjustable steering wheel with neck tilt.

The trucks also include ample storage space with 245-litres on offer in the rear of the cab, a 33-litre fridge, a microwave, two bottle holders and a premium 50mm mattress overlay protector.

Established in 2005, R Jameson Event Transport provides transport solutions for the entertainment and corporate industries.

The new vehicles – backed by a Volvo Blue Contract including all preventative maintenance – are expected to cover 75,000km a year.
