Transport minister Mike Penning dropped by the Commercial Motor stand at the CV Show for a live interview with RT TV.
Penning told CM that the return of the CV Show was a good indicator of the health of the CV market. Penning said the government was keen to help operators by looking at how longer semi-trailers could be introduced and that a height limit of 4m proposed by the EU would be strongly opposed by the UK government.

He also said the government was looking at ways to smooth the introduction of Euro-6, which manufacturers fear will cause a spike in Euro-5 sales followed by a dip in truck sales in January 2014.
