The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has put a unique picture gallery on its website.  Taken by professional and amateur photographers, the pictures aim to "challenge existing perceptions" of the industry and "create an iconic series of images that depict the industry in all its forms."  Some of the pictures are published for the first time, in a rare "behind the scenes" glimpse one of the UK's most important industries.  There are views from Vauxhall, Leyland, Ford, Mira, Nissan and many other sites.  The link is on the front page of the SMMT website at www.smmt.co.uk
