What are the big draws for visitors at this year’s Show?
Exhibitors! The Commercial Vehicle Show is renowned for consistently attracting a broad range of vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and innovators with the latest products, services and technology solutions. The 2022 Show will again be the annual industry event to engage with leading companies and existing contacts, along with making new contacts that could benefit their business. As the UK’s largest and best-attended road transport exhibition, this year’s event will be unmissable for anyone involved in the commercial vehicle industry.
Are there any new features, or developments of existing features that show visitors need to be aware of?
Two live theatres – the Workshop Theatre, in association with Commercial Vehicle Workshop, and the Road Ahead Theatre – will offer presentations on industry trends and panel discussions over the three days of the Show. Speakers including Mike Hawes CEO, SMMT will give an insight into some of the most important challenges facing the industry and are crucial for anyone wanting to keep abreast of the latest developments in commercial vehicles, equipment, transport solutions and future technologies.
Meanwhile, many leading brand names join well-respected companies and start-up enterprises in launching new vehicles and products to the marketplace. For visitors to experience these exciting new launches, visiting the Show offers the ideal opportunity to see new products and services.
How well has this year’s Show been received within the CV industry?
It has been received very well and we are delighted with the response. Continuing from the show’s successful return in 2021, this year’s event will deliver a larger unmissable show for everyone involved in the commercial vehicle and road transport industry. Exhibitors are looking forward to building on the success and strong sales reported at last year’s Show. This year has a packed exhibitor list in excess of 200 companies.
How do you think exhibitors at the show will demonstrate how they’re rising to the challenges that the industry faces at the moment?
One of the key challenges facing the sector relates to zero-emission vehicles. SMMT forecasts that around 6.4% of all new van registrations in 2022 will be battery electric vans, up from 3.6% in 2021.
Manufacturers are bringing yet more electric van models to market, broadening the choice of options for businesses looking to decarbonise their transport. Electric versions of popular van models are already available, with more to come. With so much choice on the market, the Commercial Vehicle Show offers the ideal platform to explore all the options available, speak to the experts and get sound guidance on the best choice for your business.
How important do you think the CV Show is for those involved in the commercial vehicle and logistics industries?
As the UK’s largest and best-attended road transport exhibition, the Commercial Vehicle Show provides the ideal marketing platform for seeing new products and services, gathering information and networking with industry colleagues. The importance of the show is demonstrated by its longevity, annually welcoming hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors from across the industry sector.
Are you seeing any trends develop among exhibitors in relation to how they demonstrate new technologies?
Live trade exhibitions are an essential part of doing business, so it will always be the case that exhibitors utilise not only traditional methods but the latest marketing technology, such as a virtual experience, to promote and demonstrate their products.
This year will be no different and we look forward to seeing exhibitors provide the very best opportunities for visitors to experience new products, technologies and services available. Nothing beats being able to see vehicles and products physically, along with learning first-hand about future trends in the industry and engage in face-to-face interaction.
