David Sedgley of Roadlink International tells us that Ernest Woodiwiss died peacefully in the night recently. Ernest joined Edmunds Walker as a sales representative at its Preston branch in 1949 and by 1958 he was sales supervisor for the firm's North West area. Between 1960-63 he managed the Hull branch before promotion to Midlands area manager and then in 1968 to chief executive of Edmunds Walker Industrial Division. 1973 he was a director of Associated Engineering Edmunds Walker and between 1979-81, president of the Motor Factors Association. He retired in 1981. Ernest leaves a widow, Kathleen, two sons and one daughter, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. His funeral was on Wednesday 8 September and his family asks that any donations should go to The Peace Hospice, Peace Lane, Watford, WD17 3PH.
