Daf Trucks said at the CV Show that it would be the first truck maker to adopt the Institute of Road Transport Engineers' technician accreditation scheme, irtec, across its UK dealer network.  The renewable accreditation scheme shows a technician's skills.  Daf, which already has some 650 technicians registered as irtec Licence holders, will put all of its dealer technicians through irtec, to give consistently high standards for vehicle inspections. Tony Shepherd, Aftersales Services Manager for Daf said the firm would promote irtec within its dealer network and in the long term aims to have all 'DafCheck' inspection sheets signed by an irtec-accredited technician.
