With hundreds of exhibitors, key decision makers and industry leaders from across the sector in attendance, the CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC next month is set to be the most important event of the year.
More than 11,000 people visited the show last year, bringing together a top quality range of vehicle manufacturers, converters and service providers.
In the first instalment of our two-part preview, we take a look at some of the companies exhibiting at the event from 18-20 April.
Road safety will take centre stage on VisionTrack’s stand (5E80) with its growing range of Artificial Intelligence (AI) video telematics solutions. The company will be using the event to introduce an AI detection camera for vulnerable road users and demonstrate its AI-powered post-analysis software, NARA, launched earlier this year.
Richard Lane, Commercial Director of VisionTrack, said: “The Commercial Vehicle Show will provide us with a platform to share our technology expertise and provide guidance on how best to improve road safety and eliminate fleet risk.”
On Stand 5C46, Brigade will showcase the Careye premium AI camera that is also predictive.
In addition, the company has launched the Brigade Van range, providing operators with high-definition cameras, sensors, dashcams and digital recording systems.
Brigade will also be showcasing its new Bridge Telematics range of products – using Brigade’s Bridge live services, operators of all vehicle types can now have remote access to in-vehicle tech from telematics to video and tachograph data.
Meanwhile, Exeros will be launching a range of advanced vehicle camera technologies on Stand 5D86, featuring powerful AI predictive technology.
Complementing the company’s video-based technology, it has developed powerful single infrastructure for full fleet visibility and easy fleet management, called VideMatics.
Combining traditional telematics features with the sophistication of video data and AI technology, the Video-First platform will act as a central all-in-one platform for fleet operators across the board.
Meanwhile, on Stand 5D98, Cameramatics will demonstrate its advanced commercial vehicle camera systems, including the intelligent video-based fleet safety and performance system that provides real-time support to protect drivers and safeguard fleets.
Benefits include preventing road accidents, promoting safe driving behaviours, reducing insurance premiums and protecting against fraudulent claims.
In addition, Motormax will exhibit its fleet safety solutions on Stand 5F30 with live demonstrations throughout the show.
Its products include reversing cameras, vehicle CCTV and a range of AI and machine learning solutions designed to improve fleet safety and efficiency.
Tell TVL’s Crime Prevention Zone is returning to the show on Stand 5D10, a year after the initiative launched at the same event.
The platform, hosted in partnership with the International Security Register (ISR), calls on companies and van owners who have had vehicles or items stolen to anonymously report the incident, including images, to Tell TVL’s online community as well as the police.
It is hoped the initiative will give van owners an early heads-up to protect their property from new methods of theft.
TVL Group will also unveil a range of new specialist security products.
Laura Moran, Managing Director of TVL Group, said: “We’ve seen good progress in growing the Tell TVL network and we’re delighted to welcome some of our supporters to the CV Show to help us continue spreading the word.”
On Stand 5E70, the Locks4Vans team will be in attendance to update visitors on how its products protect against vehicle attacks as well as share a behind the scenes look at how the company tests its products.
Locks 4 Vans recently increased the size of its shielding products by 30% and staff will explain why its anti-peel kit is one of the ‘go-to’ products for 2023.
The firm will also talk about its new partnership with the AA which is now delivering Key Assist emergency assistance to Locks 4 Vans customers.
This helps drivers who have lost or broken their keys, or are locked out of their van, to gain entry to their vehicle and get them back on the road.
At last year’s show, Fischer Panda UK signed an exclusivity agreement with Autoclima, strengthening its offering of integrated power and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for the road transport industry.
This year, the show will provide an opportunity for Fischer Panda UK to showcase Autoclima’s AC systems to the UK commercial vehicle market and meet and collaborate with its new service partner network on Stand 5E92.
Ian Saunders, Vehicle & Specialist Applications Sales Manager, said: “Fischer Panda UK has built a strong business partnership with Autoclima since last year’s show and we are delighted to now develop this arrangement further with a reliable network of service partners across the UK.”
Workshop equipment specialist Totalkare plans to include fixed lift installations and several demonstration vehicles on its stand (4C10) alongside other equipment.
There will be more than 20 items of heavy duty and light commercial workshop equipment from Totalkare’s extensive portfolio including mobile column lifts, as well as a two-post lift, in-ground lift, vehicle inspection pit, mobile brake tester, tyre changer, wheel alignment and wheel balancer.
“The CV Show remains a key event in Totalkare’s calendar – meeting new customers and catching up with existing ones to showcase our ever-expanding portfolio of commercial vehicle workshop equipment is always a highlight for us and we expect 2023’s Show to be no different,” said Steve Braund, Marketing Manager at Totalkare.
Racking provider System Edstrom will be returning to the CV Show this year with a range of racking products at Stand 5C12. The company will be displaying its own racking configurator, to help buyers to specify their storage solutions.
On Stand 5B20, Bott will be bringing insight and expertise on alternative fuel and electric vehicles and how the firm can support operators with decision making on vehicle conversion requirements for this ever growing market.
Its lightweight van racking and storage options have been developed to harness power and provide maximum performance for the vehicle.
