Avia Ashok Leyland says its recent decision to close Avia Trucks UK Ltd from the end of November 2010 does not mean the Ashok Leyland and ultimately Hinduja-owned firm is pulling out.  "The UK remains one of the largest truck markets in Europe, and that makes it important to the longer term success of our brand," says Marcus Pauels, boss of Avia Ashok Leyland.  "With that in mind, we are re-evaluating our commercial approach, so we can be well-placed to take advantage of an upswing in the market."  He says the review is due "early 2011" and will lead to a "clearer approach" as the UK truck market returns to health.
